Abstract

The card which is obtained by means of the process consists of three basic layers, one of these, the intermediate layer 1, consisting of the security paper, plus two polyester/polyethylene covers 2. The watermarks/rainbows are printed on the intermediate layer 1 directly on both faces or, alternatively, with complementary impressions by means of the deposition by hot extrusion of a polyethylene-compatible polyolefinic film in order next to carry out colour printing, on the aforesaid polyolefinic surface, of a further extruded layer. Printing takes place by means of laser and the production of the cards is carried on continuously, all the aforesaid using components which allow integral sheet- welding of all the layers of the card, including full thermoadherence of the corresponding thermoplastic pigments.
