Abstract

This machine consists of a general frame or framework which supports a casing on which are mounted two screens, one surrounding and the other surrounded, the product with all the impurities falling onto the surrounding screen, both screens having propulsion fingers which, on the surrounding screen, are much further apart than on the surrounded screen. Both screens are moved using an endless chain and the fruit and small impurities pass from the surrounding screen to the surrounded screen, the former one expelling the branches, large stones, etc, whilst, in the surrounded screen, the fruit is separated out from the rest of the small impurities, with the aid of a fan. The machine is intended for cleaning olives, but this does not rule out its application for the cleaning of other, similar fruits.
