A PARTIR DE SULFATO SODICO, AL QUE SE AÑADE ARENA Y UN REDUCTOR, SE LLEVA A CABO LA REACCION DE ESTOS PRODUCTOS EN CONTINUO, EN UN HORNO ROTATIVO Y A UNA TEMPERATURA APROPIADA, COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 1.200 Y 1.400GC, ALIMENTANDOSE EL HORNO CON BRIQUETAS CONSTITUIDAS POR LA MEZCLA ADECUADA DE LOS PRODUCTOS ANTERIORMENTE CITADOS. COMO REDUCTOR SE UTILIZA COCK, CASCARILLA DE CEREALES, MELAZA, SERRIN U OTRO RESIDUO VEGETAL, ASI COMO TAMBIEN MEZCLAS DE ESTOS COMPONENTES Y AL HORNO, ADEMAS DE LAS BRIQUETAS ANTERIORMENTE CITADAS, SE APORTA CARBONATO SODICO EN UNA PROPORCION COMPRENDIDA ENTRE EL 1 Y EL 5 POR 100. EL SOSI2 RESULTANTE DE LA COMBUSTION SE RECUPERA POR OXIDACION DE LOS GASES RESULTANTES.
