Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the desulfurization yield of CaC2 by mixing a CaC2 type desulfurizing agent with a mixt. of dust from a CaC2 producing electric furnace, carbon and Al ash as a desulfurization accelerator. CONSTITUTION:80-40 wt% of finely divided CaC2 is mixed with 20-60 wt% of a mixt. of dust from a CaC2 producing electric furnace, carbon and Al ash as a desulfurization accelerator. The dust is fine powder collected from the furnace and a mixt. of CaO, SiO2, Al2O3, MgO, coke breeze, etc. The Al ash is industrial waste fine powder of 250mu or below contg. Al2O3, F2, etc. other than more than 60% of Al. The carbon powder is finely divided coke, coal, graphite, etc. of 210mu or below. The mixing ratio of the dust:carbon:Al ash is 30-90%:35-5%:35-5%. With hot iron is desulfurized with the resulting desulfurizing agent, the desulfurization efficiency of the CaC2 is increased and hence the desulfurization yield is enhanced.
