EL SISTEMA CONSTA DE UNA UNIDAD DE PRODUCCION DE PRODUCCION DE AZUFRE (1), EN LA CUAL ES INTRODUCIDO EL ACIDO GASEOSO Y UN GAS RICO EN OXIGENO LIBRE (9), PRODUCIENDOSE AZUFRE POR LA OXIDACION PROVOCADA POR EL H2S QUE CONTIENE EL ACIDO GASEOSO, MIENTRAS QUE LOS GASES RESIDUALES SON CALENTADOS EN UN HORNO APARTE PARA PROVOCAR LA LIBERACION DE H2O, H2S, SO2, Y AL MENOS UNO DE LOS DERIVADOS COS Y CS2. ESTE GAS RESIDUAL SE PONE EN CONTACTO CON UN CATALIZADOR (2) DE LA HIDROLISIS DE COS Y CS2 EN PRESENCIA DE H2S, QUE ACTUA A TEMPERATURAS COMPRENDIDAS ENTRE LOS 180 Y 400 C. PARA PRODUCIR UN GAS RESIDUAL HIDROLIZADO RICO EN H2S Y SO2, Y SUBSTANCIALMENTE LIBRE DE COS Y CS2. ESTE GAS RESIDUAL HIDROLIZADO (38) PASA A LA UNIDAD DE DEPURACION, EN LA QUE EL EXCESO DE H2S Y SO2 ES RECICLADO PARA CONSEGUIR LA FORMACION DE AZUFRE A UNA TEMPERATURA INFERIOR A LA TEMPERATURA DE EBULLICION DEL AZUFRE FORMADO, MIENTRAS QUE EN OTRA SECCION DE LA UNIDAD DEPURADORA (29) SE OBTIENE UN GAS PURIFICADO QUE A CONTINUACION ES INCINERADO (4). EL H2S RESULTANTE DEL PROCESO DE HIDROLISIS DEL COS Y CS2 SE RECUPERA CASI TOTALMENTE EN FORMA DE AZUFRE EN EL INTERIOR DE LA UNIDAD DE DEPURACION, LO QUE PERMITE MEJORAR SUSTANCIALMENTE EL RENDIMIENTO DE AZUFRE DEL SISTEMA.
