Abstract
Process for the catalytic hydrogenation of carbon oxide, characterized in that an iron catalyst is prepared for synthesis that lacks support or that contains only small amounts of support materials and in certain cases also promoters such as copper, silver or metals from group 5 to 7 of the periodic system, performing the chemical reaction at temperatures of 175 to 300ºC and at pressures up to 100 at, having preserved in said catalyst by means of an adequate precipitation of the solutions of the iron salts the pH value between 6, 8 and 7.5, par excellence between 6.8 and 7.1, in consequence of which its alkaline content in the form of K2O reached 2 to 6%, par excellence the 3 to 4%, and the content in SiO2 a 5 up to 15% by direct impregnation with alkaline silicate; finally having the catalyst in question in its contact mass for the synthesis and the chemical reaction an amount of free iron ranging between 10-50%, preferably between 20 and 30% in relation to the total iron, and an interior surface of 180-230 m2, preferably 200-220 m2 for each gram of iron in the reduced catalyst.
