SE PRESENTA UN PROCESO MEDIANTE EL CUAL UNA MEZCLA DE AMIDOS DE ACIDO L-AMINO Y D-AMINO EN PRESENCIA DE ENTRE 0.5 Y 4 EQUIVALENTES DE UN ALDEHIDO , CON RELACION A LA CANTIDAD DE AMIDO DE ACIDO AMINO, EN PRESENCIA DE UN SOLVENTE Y AGUA, SE CONVIERTE, TOTALMENTE O EN PARTE, POR MEDIO DE UN ACIDO CARBOXILICO OPTICAMENTE ACTIVO, EN UNA SAL DEL AMIDO DEL ACIDO AMINO Y EL ACIDO CARBOXILICO, Y UNA PARTE QUE CONSTA PRINCIPALMENTE DE UNO DE LOS DIASTEREOISOMEROS DE ESA SAL SE SEPARA DE LA MEZCLA DE REACCION OBTENIDA. EN VEZ DE UNA MEZCLA DE AMIDOS DE ACIDOS L-AMINO Y D-AMINO TAMBIEN ES POSIBLE USAR UNA MEZCLA DE BASES "SCHIFF" DE UN AMIDO DE ACIDO AMINO Y UN ALDEHIDO, EN CUYO CASO NO ES NECESARIO AÑADIR ALDEHIDO EXTRA, Y LA CANTIDAD DE AGUA REQUERIDA SE ELEVA A AL MENOS UN EQUIVALENTE CON RELACION A LA CANTIDAD DE BASE "SCHIFF".
