PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA OBTENCION DE AMONIO A PARTIR DE NITRATOS Y NITRITOS POR ELECTROLISIS CON ELECTRODOS DE MATERIALES DE HIERRO/HIERRO OXIDADOS QUE COMPRENDE EL USO DE ELECTRODOS DE HIERRO/HIERRO OXIDADO GENERANDO DICHO OXIDO POR VIA QUIMICA O ELECTROQUIMICA. PARA PRODUCIR LA REDUCCION ELECTROCATALITICA DEL ION NITRITO A AMONIO SOBRE ELECTRODO OXIDADO SE ALTERNAN LAS POLARIDADES DE LOS ELECTRODOS DE HIERRO. EL PASO DE NITRATO A NITRITO SE REALIZA POR SIMPLE ELECTROLISIS SOBRE LOS MISMOS ELECTRODOS. ESTE SISTEMA DE SINTESIS DE AMONIACO MEJORA EL DE HABER-BOSCH YA QUE NO REQUIERE NECESARIAMENTE DE UN CONTROL DE PRESIONES Y TEMPERATURAS ALTAS Y PUEDE REALIZARSE EN CELDAS DE TAMAÑOS VARIABLES, FIJAS O PORTATILES. EL PROCEDIMIENTO ES SUSCEPTIBLE DE SER EMPLEADO EN CONDUCCIONES O TUBERIAS DE HIERRO. TIENE APLICACION EN LA FABRICACION DE AMONIACO EN DISOLUCION, EN LA PRODUCCION DE ABONOS PARA AGRICULTURA Y EN LA ELIMINACION DE NITRATOS Y NITRITOS EN AGUAS.
