LAS SALIDAS DEL ELEMENTO CONMUTADOR ESTAN DISPUESTAS EN GRUPO DE ENCAMINAMIENTO QUE CONTIENEN UNA O MAS SALIDAS Y DE LOS CUALES SE DERIVA LA IDENTIDAD MEDIANTE MEDIOS LOGICOS DE ENCAMINAMIENTO DESDE UNA DIRECCION DEL PUERTO DE SALIDA (OPA) QUE IDENTIFICA UNA SALIDA DE LA RED DE CONMUTACION Y QUE ESTA CONTENIDA EN LA ETIQUETA DE ENCAMINAMIENTO (SRT) ASOCIADA A LA CELDA. ESTA CELDA SE TRANSFIERE ENTONCES HASTA UNA DE LAS SALIDAS QUE PERTENECEN AL GRUPO DE ENCAMINAMIENTO SELECCIONADO. LOS MEDIOS LOGICOS DE ENCAMINAMIENTO (RL) SON TAMBIEN CAPACES DE CONTROLAR LA TRANSFERENCIA DE UNA CELDA A TRAVES DEL ELEMENTO CONMUTADOR DE ACUERDO CON LA EJECUCION DE UNA FUNCION DE ENCAMINAMIENTO PREDETERMINADA SELECCIONADA DE ENTRE UNA PLURALIDAD DE FUNCIONES DE ENCAMINAMIENTO (RS, DI, MC, BH, IS) .
