LA PRODUCCION DE ACIDO PEROXOMONOSULFURICO (ACIDO DE CARO) POR REACCION ENTRE PEROXIDO DE HIDROGENO CONCENTRADO Y SOLUCIONES DE ACIDO SULFURICO, PUEDE SER PERJUDICADA SUSTANCIALMENTE CUANDO SE EMPLEAN CANTIDADES SUBESTEQUIOMETRICAS DEL ACIDO SULFURICO. EL PROBLEMA ES MEJORADO O ELIMINADO POR FORMACION PRIMERAMENTE DE UN CUERPO FLUIDO RICO EN ACIDO SULFURICO (USUALMENTE EL VOLUMEN MAS PEQUEÑO) Y A CONTINUACION INTRODUCIR DENTRO DE ESE CUERPO DE FLUIDO LA SOLUCION DE PEROXIDO DE HIDROGENO (USUALMENTE EL VOLUMEN MAYOR). EL CUERPO DE FLUIDO ES CON VENTAJA O ACIDO SULFURICO CONCENTRADO POR SI MISMO, O UNA MEZCLA PREVIA FORMADA POR REACCION ENTRE PEROXIDO DE HIDROGENO Y POR LO MENOS UNA CANTIDAD EQUIMOLAR DE ACIDO SULFURICO. EL PROCESO ES PARTICULARMENTE APROPIADO PARA PRODUCIR ACIDO DE CARO CUANDO SE EMPLEAN 0,02 HASTA 0,5 MOLES DE ACIDO SULFURICO POR MOL DE PEROXIDO E HIDROGENO.
