Abstract

Lightning arrester with priming device and system of ensuring insulation. The lightning arrester includes a metal casing 1 of a flared configuration, with its upper part extending to a pointed tip 2 and its lower part open and linked to an axial, concentric shaft 3 forming the earth connection, this shaft 3 being joined to the casing 1 with the interposition of an insulating material 4 for creating a capacitor whose plates are formed by the casing 1 and metal shaft 3. The lower rim or mouth of the casing 1 extends into a water deflector 6, thus achieving perfect insulation against this atmospheric agent, since inside there is a hollow 5 insulated by the material itself 4, housing decisive electronic elements or components of a discharge priming device.
