Abstract

Method using vertical press and glass fibre reinforced moulding compound to form parts partic. kitchen elements or bath tubs, having at least part of one face superficially finished with polyester follows the stages: (a) mounting on the upper mobile platen of the press a mould part that will define the visible surface of the prod. to the finish. (b) mount on the lower press platen the mould part defining the non-visible surface of the prod. (c) spray paint with polyester powder in a programmed manner the vertical and horizontal surfaces of the upper mould part, (d) strongly suction extract the air around the mould. The polyester powder is electrostatically fixed to the mould part, at a temp. of 130-150 deg C. where it solidifies and cures.
