CONSISTE EN PASAR EL GAS CON MERCURIO A TRAVES DE UNA TORRE DE LAVADO DONDE SE INYECTA SULFURO DE HIDROGENO (GAS) DE FORMA CONTINUA O INTERMITENTE A LA VEZ QUE SE RIEGA CON UNA SOLUCION QUE CONTENGA UN COMPLEJO DE MERCURIO (II) ESTABLE EN MEDIO ACIDO, TAL COMO [I2HG]2- O [CSCN)4HG]2-, SIN NECESIDAD DE UTILIZAR UN OXIDANTE ADICIONAL. TANTO LA CAPTACION Y PRECIPITACION DEL MERCURIO COMO LE REGENERACION DE LA SOLUCION QUE CONTIENE EL COMPLEJO DE MERCURIO (II) TIENE LUGAR SIMULTANEAMENTE EN UNA SOLA ETAPA.
