LA INVENCION SUMINISTRA UN METODO PARA FABRICAR UNA ALEACION DE MATRIZ DE METAL DE CARBURO DE TITANIO, QUEMANDO UNA MEZCLA DE REACCION EN PARTICULAS QUE COMPRENDA CARBONO, TITANIO Y UN MATERIAL DE MATRIZ, BAJO CONDICIONES TALES QUE EL TITANIO Y EL CARBONO REACCIONEN EXOTERMICAMENTE PARA FORMAR UNA DISPERSION DE PARTICULAS FINAS QUE COMPRENDAN CARBURO DE TITANIO (PREFERIBLEMENTE MENORES DE 10 MICRONES) EN UNA MATRIZ PREDOMINANTEMENTE DE METAL. EL TITANIO Y LA MATRIZ SE AÑADEN PREFERIBLEMENTE COMO UNA REACCION DE TITANIO TAL COMO EL FERROTITANIO, POR EJEMPLO FERROTITANIO EUTECTICO. LAS CONDICIONES DE REACCION SE SELECCIONAN PREFERIBLEMENTE DE MANERA QUE DURANTE LA REACCION UNA ZONA FUNDIDA SE MUEVA A TRAVES DEL CUERPO DE LA MEZCLA DE REACCION; LAS PARTICULAS DURAS RESULTANTES SON DE FORMA GLUBULAR; Y SU TAMAÑO MEDIO ES UNIFORME A TODO LO LARGO DE LA DISPERSION RESULTANTE.
