LA PRESENTE INVENCION SE REFIERE A LA NEUROTROFINA-3 (NT-3), MIEMBRO RECIENTEMENTE DESCUBIERTO DE LA FAMILIA DE GENES BDNF. ESTA BASADO, EN PARTE, EN LA IDENTIFICACION DE REGIONES DE LA SECUENCIA DE ACIDO NUCLEICO HOMOLOGAMENTE COMPARTIDA POR BDNF Y NGF (PATENTE DE LOS EEUU DE NUMERO DE SERIE 400.591, REGISTRADA EL 30 DE AGOSTO DE 1989, INCORPORADA POR REFERENCIA EN LA PRESENTE). DE ACUERDO CON LA PRESENTE INVENCION, ESTAS REGIONES DE HOMOLOGIA PUEDEN USARSE PARA IDENTIFICAR NUEVOS MIEMBROS DE LA FAMILIA DEL GEN BDNF/NGF; DICHA METODOLOGIA FUE USADA PARA IDENTIFICAR LA NT-3.
