LA INVENCION CONSISTE EN UN PROCESO DE ISOMERIZACION DE HIDROCARBUROS ALIFATICOS LINEALES CUYO NUMERO DE ATOMOS DE CARBONO ES SUPERIOR A 6 PARA HACER HIDROCARBUROS RAMIFICADOS QUE PRESENTAN ASI UN MEJOR INDICE DE OCTANO. EL PROCESO CONSISTE EN HACER PASAR EL HIDROCARBURO DILUIDO EN EL HIDROGENO SOBRE UN CATALIZADOR A BASE DE OXICARBURO DE MOLIBDENO QUE SE OBTIENE BIEN A PARTIR DE CARBURO DE MOLIBDENO QUE SE SOMETE A UNA OXIDACION DISPUESTA, BIEN A PARTIR DE OXIDO DE MOLIBDENO MOO3 QUE SE REDUCE POR UN HIDROCARBURO.
