PARA PURIFICAR ELECTRODIALITICAMENTE EL ELECTROLITO DE UN BAÑO GALVANICO, DE UN BAÑO DE DECAPADO, O SIMILAR, EL LIQUIDO DEL BAÑO (ELECTROLITO DEL PROCESO) ES CONDUCIDO A UN CIRCUITO CERRADO A TRAVES DE UNA PRIMERA CAMARA (21) DE UNA CELULA DE ELECTRODIALISIS (20) PARA SER REGENERADO CONTINUAMENTE. LA PRIMERA CAMARA (21) TIENE UNA PARED DISEÑADA COMO UNA MEMBRANA (23) PARCIALMENTE PERMEABLE Y ESTA SUMERGIDA EN UN BAÑO FORMADO POR UNA SEGUNDA CAMARA MAYOR (22). LA SEGUNDA CAMARA (22) CONTIENE UN ELECTROLITO AUXILIAR SEPARADO POR LA MEMBRANA (33) DEL ELECTROLITO DEL PROCESO. UNA DE LAS CAMARAS (21 O 22) TIENE EL ANODO (31) Y LA OTRA EL CATODO (32) DE UNA FUENTE DE VOLTAJE DE CORRIENTE CONTINUA. ESTE DISPOSITIVO PERMITE UNA REGENERACION CONTINUA DEL ELECTROLITO DEL PROCESO. CON ESTE OBJETIVO, EL ELECTROLITO AUXILIAR ES CONDUCIDO A UN CIRCUITO CERRADO A TRAVES DE LA SEGUNDA CAMARA (22) QUE CONTIENE A LA PRIMERA CAMARA (21) Y QUE ACTUA COMO UN BAÑO ELECTROLITICO AUXILIAR. COMO ELECTROLITO AUXILIAR SE USA UN ACIDO CARBOXILICO. EL ELECTROLITO AUXILIAR CONTIENE UNA SAL CONDUCTORA.
