ES ESPECIALMENTE APLICABLE AL ANALISIS DE MUESTRAS BIOLOGICAS, POR EJEMPLO, SANGRE O SUERO. EL ELECTRODO ES PREFERIBLEMENTE PLATINO, Y DURANTE EL PROCESO DE REVESTIMIENTO Y/O UTILIZACION PUEDE SER RODEADO CON UNA MEMBRANA PERMEABLE (POR EJEMPLO, POLIMERO, Y ESPECIALMENTE UN POLICARBONATO DE 0,03 A 0,05 (MU)M DE ESPESOR).
