SE SECA LA HOJA PARA FORMAR UN REVESTIMIENTO DE SILICATO ADHERENTE QUE TIENE UN GROSOR DE AL MENOS 2 MM ANTES DE SER TRATADO CON UNA SOLUCION ACUOSA QUE CONTIENE SILANO DE 0,5-5 VOL.-%. SI SE PINTA LA HOJA, LA PELICULA DE SILANO FORMA UN ENLACE ADHERENTE ENTRE LA PINTURA Y EL REVESTIMIENTO DE SILICATO. UN REVESTIMIENTO DE SILICATO TRATADO CON SILANO MINIMIZA LA OXIDACION EN EL ACERO RECUBIERTO DE ESTAÑO SELLANDO LOS AGUJEROS DE LOS PERNOS. EL REVESTIMIENTO DE SILICATO TRATADO CON SILANO PROPORCIONA TAMBIEN UNA BUENA PROTECCION CONTRA LA CORROSION Y ADHERENCIA DE LA PINTURA EN ACERO GALVANIZADO O LAMINADO EN FRIO.
