LA INVENCION CONSISTE ESENCIALMENTE EN EL HECHO DE QUE EL RAYO DE LUZ ES GUIADO A UN CRISTAL DE NIOBATO DE LITIO DE CORTE DE GRADO CERO O TANTALATO DE LITIO, CON PREFERENCIA EN UNA GUIA DE ONDA LAMINADA MONOMODAL QUE SE EXTIENDE A LO LARGO DE LA MISMA SUPERFICIE, Y DE MODO QUE LOS PRISMAS DE DEFLEXION CONSISTEN CADA UNO DE ELLO EN DOS AREAS TRIANGULARES O PRISMATICAS EN DONDE SE GENERA UN SENTIDO DE POLARIZACION SUSTANCIALMENTE UNIFORME EN ZONAS CON SENTIDOS OPUESTOS ESPONTANEAMENTE DE POLARIZACION MEDIANTE INVERSION DEL SENTIDO DE POLARIZACION DETERMINADO POR MEDIO DEL VECTOR DE CAMPO ELECTRICO.
