USO DE UN SORBENTE DE ALUMINA CAPAZ DE ADSORBER EL NOX Y EL SOX DE LOS GASES DE DESECHO Y DE REGENERASE SI SE CALIENTA A MAS DE 650 (GRADOS) C EN UN PROCESO PARA LA RETIRA CONTINUA DE LOS OXIDOS DE NITROGENO Y DE LOS OXIDOS DE AZUFRE DE UN GAS QUE LOS CONTIENE Y PARA LA REGENERACION DEL SORBENTE. EL SORBENTE DE ALUMINA SE FORMA INCORPORANDO UN AGENTE ESTABILIZADOR DE ALUMINA EN EL SORBENTE. UN METODO PREFERENTE ES AÑADIR EL ESTABILIZADOR CUANDO SE PRECIPITA LA ALUMINA. CON EL POLVO PRECIPITADO SE FORMA POSTERIORMENTE UNA SUSPENSION QUE SE TRABAJA Y SE DESHIDRATA POR PULVERIZACION PARA FORMAR LAS PARTICULAS DE ALUMINA ESFERICAS ESTABILIZADAS QUE TIENEN UN TAMAÑO DE PARTICULA MENOR DE 500 MICRAS. LAS PARTICULAS SE IMPREGNAN CON UN METAL ALCALINO O UN METAL ALCALINO-TERREO PARA FORMAR EL SORBENTE ESTABILIZADO. LOS ESTABILIZADORES DE ALUMINA INCLUYEN UNO O MAS DE LOS SIGUIENTES: SILICE, LANTANA, OTRAS TIERRAS RARAS, TITANIA, ZIRCONIA Y TIERRAS ALCALINAS.
