Abstract

The upholstery consists of a layered body in which there are a lower support 1, based on a polyamide, polypropylene, polyester or cotton mesh or fabric, an intermediate foam core 2 and a covering 3 of finishing fabric, all joined together to form a one-piece assembly. On the basis of this upholstery, the seat includes a metal framework based on a peripheral tube 4 and an inner suspension formed of ziz-zag or mattress-type springs 9, the edge zone of the upholstery being fixed to the frame 4 of the framework by clamps 10 provided with spikes 11 that penetrate into the tube, and to the inner suspension 9 by annular clamps 8 that are also fixed to longitudinal and transverse seams 5 of the upholstery itself.
