LA INVENCION SE REFIERE A UN PROCEDIMIENTO DE PREPARACION , A PARTIR DE HIERRO FERROSO, DE SUSTANCIAS QUIMICAS PARA EL TRATAMIENTO DEL AGUA EN FORMA DE SOLUCION QUE CONTIENEN HIERRO FERRICO; A UN PRODUCTO INTERMEDIO GRANULADO OBTENIDO EN DICHO PROCEDIMIENTO; Y A LA UTILIZACION DE LOS PRODUCTOS FINALES DE DICHO PROCEDIMIENTO. EN EL CITADO PROCEDIMIENTO, SE OXIDA UN MATERIAL BRUTO QUE CONTIENE HIERRO FERROSO EN FORMA DE SOLUCION ACUOSA E IMPUREZAS EVENTUALES, A ELEVADA TEMPERATURA, DE FORMA QUE SE OBTIENEN UN COMPUESTO FERRICO PRACTICAMENTE PURO, QUE PRECIPITA, Y UNA FASE DE SOLUCION QUE CONTIENE DICHAS IMPUREZAS. LA IDEA ESENCIAL DE LA INVENCION ES QUE LA PRECIPITACION SE LLEVA A CABO DE TAL FORMA QUE UNA PARTE DEL HIERRO FERRICO PRECIPITA EN FORMA DE GOETITA FEO(OH) O, EN PRESENCIA DE IONES SULFATO, EN FORMA DE JAROSITA DE HIDRONIO H 3 OFE 3 (OH) SUB,6 (SO 4 ) 2 , MIENTRAS QUE PARTE DEL HIERRO FERRICO PERMANECE COMO COMPUESTO FERRICO SOLUBLE EN AGUA, EN LA FASE DE SOLUCION. LOS MATERIALES BRUTOS ADECUADOS INCLUYEN SULFATO FERROSO IMPURO Y SOLUCIONES DE ATAQUE QUIMICO QUE CONTIENEN CLORURO FERROSO. EL COMPUESTO FERRICO PURO PRECIPITADO SE PUEDE SEPARAR NUEVAMENTE MEDIANTE FILTRACION O, ALTERNATIVAMENTE, LA SUSPENSION SE PUEDE GRANULAR PARA FORMAR UN PRODUCTO INTERMEDIO SOLIDO Y SE PUEDE RESUSPENDER POSTERIORMENTE EN AGUA, TRAS LO CUAL SE PUEDE SEPARAR UN COMPUESTO FERRICO PURO MEDIANTE FILTRACION. DICHO COMPUESTO PURO SE DISUELVE EN UN ACIDO, TRAS LO CUAL ES ADECUADO COMO COAGULANTE PARA LA PURIFICACION DEL AGUA DE BEBIDA, Y LA FASE DE SOLUCION ES ADECUADA COMO COAGULANTE PARA EL TRATAMIENTO DE AGUA RESIDUAL.
