Abstract
Ánodo de una celda para la fabricación electrolítica de aluminio a partir de alúmina disuelta en un electrólito fundido que contiene fluoruro, comprendiendo dicho ánodo un cuerpo o capa de un acero de bajo contenido de carbono, de baja aleación y alta resistencia mecánica (HSLA) cuya superficie es oxidada para formar una capa externa basada en óxido de hierro coherente y adherente, cuya superficie es electroquímicamente activa para la evolución de oxígeno, poseyendo dicha capa externa basada en óxido de hierro una baja solubilidad en el electrólito fundido, siendo el grosor de dicha capa basada en óxido de hierro tal que reduzca o impida la difusión de oxígeno desde la superficie electroquímicamente activa al cuerpo o capa de acero.
