Abstract

La invención se refiere a una composición medicinal que comprende un material de gel que se puede obtener a partir de un medio de partida semicelulósico, estando dicho material de gel sustancialmente libre de glucanos y pectinas y que comprende una red polisacarídica que comprende: una matriz de segmentos de cadena polisacarídica; yuna multiplicidad de enlaces de ferulato reticulado enlazados c intervalos sustancialmente regulares a lo largo de dichos segmentos reticulados.La composición medicinal puede ser, por ejemplo:a) una formulación tópica; ob) b) un apósito (por ejemplo para el tratamiento de quemaduras), oc) un agente de desbridado, od) un vehículo para hierro o zinc, oe) un lubricante, of) un espesante para composiciones parenterales, og) un agente de encapsulación, oh) un vehículo de liberación lenta para la administración de medicamento (bien por vía oral, parenteral o anal);oi) i) para su utilización para propósitos de implantes o protésicos, para propósitos ortopédicos (como geles de alivio de presión), oj) para utilización ocular, ok) para utilización como supositorio.
