Abstract

Un procedimiento para la preparación de sales cálcicas fluidas de ácidos grasos altamente insaturados que comprende: (a) suministrar una materia prima de ácido graso insaturado que consta esencialmente de: de aproximadamente 50 % a aproximadamente 95 % en peso de ácidos grasos C:16-C:22 insaturados; (ii) de aproximadamente 5 % a aproximadamente 40 % en peso de ácidos grasos C:14-C:22 saturados; no más de aproximadamente 6 % en peso de contenido en agua, insolubles y no saponificables, con no más de aproximadamente 20 % en peso de dicha materia prima insaturada en forma de glicéridos; (b) añadir a dicha materia prima insaturada de aproximadamente 1, 0 a aproximadamente 2, 5 equivalentes de óxido de calcio en relación con la materia prima insaturada, de modo que se forma una mezcla reactiva; y añadir a dicha mezcla reactiva de aproximadamente 2 a aproximadamente 5 equivalentes de agua en relación con dicho óxido de calcio, de modo que dicho óxido de calcio hidrata y neutraliza dichos ácidos grasos para formar dichas sales cálcicas; a condición de que cuando se añadan menos de 1, 75 equivalentes de óxido de calcio, dicha materia prima insaturada comprende al menos 25 % en peso de dichos ácidos grasos saturados y se calienta a una temperatura por encima de su punto de fusión antes de dicha etapa de adición de dicho óxido de calcio.
