Abstract
Se describe un medio que soporta la germinación del polen y el crecimiento de tubos de polen en la presencia de Agrobacterium, el medio está compuesto por agarosa, sacarosa, NO{sub,3}, MnSO{sub,4}, H{sub,3}BO{sub,3}, MgSO{sub,4} y ácido giberélico. Se describe un procedimiento para la trasformación genética de plantas y de líneas por medio de una transformación del polen mediante Agrobacterium. El procedimientos consta de los pasos de obtención del polen de una primera planta, aplicando un césped de Agrobacteria para un medio de cultivo de polen sólido, la Agrobacterium consta de al menos una secuencia de genes heterólogos capaz de ser transplantada a una célula de planta, aplicando el polen al medio sólido, permitiendo al polen germinar y crecer en el medio, por lo cual la Agrobacterium sujeta al tubo de polen o mediante la transferencia de la secuencia de genes heterólogos al polen de germinación obtener polen transgénico, aplicando el polen transgénico a la estigma de una segunda plantacapaz de ser fertilizada por el polen de la primera planta, por tanto fertilizando la segunda planta, obteniendo semillas transgénicas de la segunda planta y germinando la semilla transgénica para obtener una planta transgénica. El procedimiento es particularmente útil para usar el llamado polen de "estigma seco".
