Abstract

Procedimiento para hidrogenar selectivamente un copolímero de bloques que tenga al menos un bloque de polímero de butadieno y al menos un bloque de polímero de isopreno con un catalizador de hidrogenación que hidrogene los bloques de isopreno y los bloques de butadieno a una velocidad diferente, el cual procedimiento comprende (a) elegir un peso molecular deseado de polímero y un nivel deseado de insaturación residual en el (los) bloque(s) de isopreno y en el (los) bloque(s) de butadieno y determinar los pesos moleculares del (de los) bloque(s) de butadieno y del (de los) bloque(s) de isopreno, de forma que el tiempo requerido para hidrogenar el (los) bloque(s) de butadieno y el (los) bloque(s) de isopreno con el catalizador de hidrogenación hasta los niveles deseados de insaturación residual sea sustancialmente el mismo; (b) polimerizar aniónicamente butadieno e isopreno para formar un copolímero de bloques como se determina en la etapa (a); y (c) hidrogenar selectivamente el copolímero debloques con el catalizador de hidrogenación hasta que el (los) bloque(s) de butadieno y/o el (los) bloque(s) de isopreno hayan alcanzado el nivel deseado de insaturación residual.
