Dispositivo (10) de mando de dirección de vehículo automóvil que comprende una columna de dirección tubular (12), un árbol de dirección (14) montado giratorio en el interior de la columna de dirección, un volante de dirección (16) unido en rotación al extremo superior libre (87)del árbol de dirección, un bloque (34) de accesorios que comprende, por ejemplo, una almohadilla hinchable, estando montado el bloque (34) de accesorios en el centro del volante (16) y fijo en rotación con respecto a la columna de dirección (12) por intermedio de un soporte fijo (20) coaxial con el árbol de dirección (14), y un haz (38) de conexión eléctrica que se extiende, desde el bloque central de accesorios (34) axialmente a través del soporte fijo (20) para unirse radialmente a un elemento exterior de conexión (42, 47) y del tipo en el cual el soporte fijo (20) está montado en el extremo superior (22) de la columna de dirección tubular (14), el cubo (24) del volante (16) está montado giratorio con respecto al soporte fijo (20), y el cubo del volante (24) está unido en rotación al árbol de dirección (14) por un mecanismo de engranajes que comprende dos órganos dentados coaxiales (60, 86) unidos en rotación al cubo de volante (24) y al árbol de dirección (14) que engranan con un órgano dentado intermedio (90) excéntrico con respecto al eje (X-X) de la columna de dirección, caracterizado porque el órgano dentado intermedio es un piñón dentado (90) cuyo primer extremo axial engrana con un primer manguito dentado interiormente (60, 62) unido en rotación y coaxial con el cubo de volante (24) y cuyo segundo extremo engrana con un segundo manguito (86, 88) dentado interiormente y unido en rotación al árbol de dirección (14).
