Description
Composición de correa de módulo elevado y correas
fabricadas a partir de ésta.
Esta invención se refiere a una composición
elastomérica de módulo elevado particularmente adecuada para su uso
en correas de transmisión sincrónica con soporte de carga
elevada.
El uso de caucho de
acrilonitrilo-butadieno hidrogenado (HNBR) en
correas, particularmente para su uso en la automoción, ha sido
sugerido con anterioridad. Ver p. ej. artículos de Trevor A. Brown:
"Compounding for Maximum Heat Resistance and Load Bearing
Capacity in HNBR Belts", Rubber World magazine,
octubre 1993, página 53, y "Using HNBR to Improve Belt
Compounds",

patente US-A-5,405,690. No obstante,
no existen sugerencias sobre cómo debería ser la composición.
Fujiwara, en la patente
US-A-5,599,246 (y
EP-A-674 121), expone el uso de un
HNBR modificado, concretamente el uso de ZSC-2295,
en la composición de una correa. El HNBR modificado se mezcla con
HNBR no modificado, mezclando 10-40 partes en peso
del HNBR modificado con 90-60 partes en peso del
HNBR no modificado, de modo que la cantidad de metacrilato de zinc
se encuentre entre del 4 al 20 por ciento del compuesto de caucho.
Fujiwara explica que si la cantidad de metacrilato de zinc es
superior a 20 partes en peso de la composición total de caucho, se
produce la fatiga del cuerpo de tracción.
Según la práctica de la presente invención, se
proporciona una composición elastomérica y una correa de
transmisión de energía producidas según se define en las
reivindicaciones.
Un ejemplo típico de un HNBR modificado con óxido
de zinc y ácido metacrílico está comercialmente disponible como
Zetpol ZSC2295 por Nippon Zeon Co. Un HNBR no modificado se
encuentra disponible como Zetpol 2020, también por Nippon Zeon
Co.
Los co-agentes vulcanizantes de
peróxido típicos son trimetacrilato de trimetilolpropano,
organosiloxanos trifuncionales, triallil cianurato y triallil
isocianurato. Aunque puede emplearse de 0.5 a 10 phr de un
co-agente, se prefiere el uso de 3 a 6 phr.
Los peróxidos orgánicos típicos que pueden
emplearse con la invención son
1,3-bis(t-butilperoxi-1-propil)
benceno, peróxido de dicumilo y
\alpha,\alpha-bis(t-butilperoxi)
valerato. Aunque puede emplearse de 0.25 a 20 phr de un peróxido,
se prefiere el uso de 1.5 a 4.5 phr.
Las resinas fenólicas típicas que pueden
emplearse son resinas de fenol formaldehído. Se prefiere una resina
de fenol formaldehído termoendurecible modificada con aceite.
Aunque puede emplearse de 1 a 20 phr de una resina fenólica, se
prefiere el uso de 6 a 12 phr. Se cree que la resina fenólica
proporciona un nivel elevado de adhesión al refuerzo en las correas
vulcanizadas y que además permite que las correas se construyan con
un equipamiento de tratamiento elastomérico convencional sin
utilizar disolventes.
Además de los ingredientes arriba catalogados, la
composición puede contener otros materiales usados normalmente en
la composición del caucho, como productos de relleno,
antioxidantes, antiozonantes, ayudantes para el procesamiento, etc.
Particularmente, se prefiere de 5 a 50 phr de un negro carbón
N330.
Se ha descubierto que la composición de la
invención proporciona correas de transmisión sincrónica dentadas
que tienen una rigidez suficiente sin el uso de refuerzos de fibra.
Como medida de esta característica, se prefiere que el módulo con
un alargamiento del 10% sea de 5.2 a 7.25 MPa.
Aunque que se han mostrado ciertas formas de
realización y ciertos detalles representativos para ilustrar la
invención, para los expertos en esta técnica será evidente que
pueden realizarse varios cambios y modificaciones sin alejarse del
objetivo de las reivindicaciones.
Claims (5)
1. Composición elastomérica que comprende:
- (a)
- de 50 a 95 partes en peso por 100 partes de caucho de un HNBR modificado con metacrilato de zinc o con una combinación de óxido de zinc y ácido metacrílico;
- b)
- de 5 a 50 partes en peso por 100 partes de caucho de un HNBR no modificado;
- c)
- de 0.5 a 10 partes en peso por 100 partes de caucho de un co-agente vulcanizante de peróxido;
- d)
- de 0.25 a 20 partes en peso por 100 partes de caucho de un peróxido orgánico; y
- e)
- de 5 a 50 partes en peso por 100 partes de caucho de negro carbón,
donde la composición está caracterizada
por la adición de 1 a 20 partes en peso por 100 partes de caucho de
una resina fenólica.
2. Composición según la reivindicación 1, donde
el co-agente vulcanizante de peróxido es
trimetacrilato de trimetilolpropano.
3. Composición según la reivindicación 1, donde
el peróxido es
\alpha,\alpha-bis(t-butilperoxi)
valerato.
4. Composición según la reivindicación 1 que
tiene un módulo con un alargamiento del 10% de 5.2 a 7.25 M Pa.
5. Correa de transmisión de energía producida a
partir de una composición elastomérica que comprende:
- (a)
- de 50 a 95 partes en peso por 100 partes de caucho de un HNBR modificado con metacrilato de zinc o con una combinación de óxido de zinc y ácido metacrílico;
- b)
- de 5 a 50 partes en peso por 100 partes de caucho de un HNBR no modificado;
- c)
- de 0.5 a 10 partes en peso por 100 partes de caucho de un co-agente vulcanizante de peróxido;
- d)
- de 0.25 a 20 partes en peso por 100 partes de caucho de un peróxido orgánico; y
- e)
- de 5 a 50 partes en peso por 100 partes de caucho de negro carbón;
donde la composición está caracterizada
por la adición de 1 a 20 phr de una resina fenólica.
