Abstract

Método de purificación de ácido láctico a escala industrial, que comprende las etapas siguientes: (a) destilación a presión reducida de una solución concentrada de ácido láctico con un contenido total de ácido de por lo menos el 95% en peso y un contenido de ácido láctico monomérico de por lo menos el 80% en peso, basado en la solución concentrada de ácido láctico, siendo la proporción de enantiómeros de ácido láctico en la solución concentrada de ácido láctico diferente de 1, con el fin de formar un concentrado de ácido láctico, y (b) cristalización del concentrado de ácido láctico para formar un ácido láctico puro, en el que la cristalización se lleva a cabo mediante: (i) enfriamiento directo del concentrado de ácido láctico en uno o más cristalizadores de fundido (ii) dilución del concentrado de ácido láctico con agua y cristalización en uno o más cristalizadores por enfriamiento y/o cristalizadores por evaporación, y/o (iii) cristalización en uno o más cristalizadores adiabáticos.
