La presente invención se refiere a un material
textil para su uso como el material textil de la cubierta externa
de una prenda de vestir para bomberos.
El material textil de la cubierta externa de una
prenda de vestir para bomberos debe ser resistente a la llama, al
calor, a la abrasión, al rasgado y a la humedad, duradero y ligero.
Este material textil de la cubierta externa proporciona la primera
capa de protección para el bombero.
Las patentes estadounidenses números 5.095.549;
5.136.723; 5.701.606; 5.983.409; 5.996.122; y 6.038.700 dan a
conocer, entre otras cosas, prendas de vestir para bomberos que
tienen un material textil de cubierta externa compuesto por fibras
de aramida/PBI.
La patente estadounidense número 5.299.602 da a
conocer un material textil de cubierta externa, tejido fabricado
para prendas de vestir para bomberos en el que los hilos de urdimbre
son hilos multifilamento de aramida de y los hilos de trama son o
bien hilos multifilamento o bien de aramida hilados.
La patente estadounidense 5.628.065 da a conocer
una capucha para bomberos de un material textil de punto formado
por una combinación de fibras de aramida y PBI.
Las patentes estadounidenses números 6.065.153 y
6.192.520 dan a conocer un material textil de cubierta externa,
tejido para prendas de vestir para bomberos. Este material textil
tiene un ligamento tafetán, sarga o resistente al rasgado
("rip stop") y los hilos son una mezcla de fibras de
aramida y PBI. El material textil tiene un peso que oscila desde
187 hasta 271 g/m^{2} (de 5,5 a 8 OSY), preferiblemente, de 254
g/m^{2} (7,5 OSY).
Un material textil de cubierta externa popular
es un material textil tejido de hilos hilados que consiste en fibra
cortada de aramida y PBI. Este material textil se conoce en el
mercado como "PBI GOLD®". En los EE.UU., este material textil
se fabrica generalmente en las siguientes formas: 1) un ligamento
resistente al rasgado de 254 g/m^{2} (7,5 OSY) compuesto por
hilos hilados de 16/2 c.c. que consisten en un 40% en peso de PBI y
un 60% en peso de una para-aramida; o 2) un
ligamento resistente al rasgado de 237 g/m^{2} (7,0 OSY) nominal
(de 248 a 251 g/m^{2} real (de 7,3 a 7,4 OSY)) compuesto por hilos
hilados de 21/2 c.c. que consisten en un 40% PBI y un 60% de la
para-aramida. A nivel internacional, este material
textil está en la forma de hilos hilados de 24-25/2
c.c. de un ligamento resistente al rasgado de 200 a 220 g/m^{2}
(de 6,0 a 6,5 OSY) de un 40% de PBI y un 60% de
para-aramida, o un ligamento sarga compuesto por
hilos hilados de 35/2 c.c. de un 40% de PBI y un 60% de
para-aramida.
Otro material textil usado como material textil
de cubierta externa se comercializa con el nombre comercial
"Millenia" de Southern Mills, Inc. de Union City, GA. El
material textil Millenia se fabrica con un hilo hilado que consiste
en un 40% de PBO y un 60% de fibra cortada de
para-aramida.
Aunque "PBI GOLD®" ha demostrado ser un
excelente material textil de cubierta externa, todavía existe una
necesidad de mejorar estos materiales textiles. Existe un deseo de
tener materiales textiles más ligeros que tengan una mejor
resistencia al desgarro y a la abrasión.
El documento US 5 928 971 se refiere a una tela

muestra en la figura 1 una ilustración del material 10 textil
fabricado según la presente invención. Preferiblemente, el material
10 textil tiene un color dorado con un diseño "de cuadros"
creado por hilos 14 multifilamento negros. El material 10 textil
está tejido preferiblemente con hilos 12 hilados y hilos 14
multifilamento. Los ligamentos se seleccionan del grupo que
consiste en tafetán, sarga, resistente al rasgado y Panamá. El peso
del material textil puede oscilar desde 200-271
g/m^{2} (de 6 a 8 OSY), preferiblemente, de 237 g/m^{2} (7
OSY). La razón en peso de hilos hilados con respecto a hilos
multifilamento debe oscilar desde 85:15 hasta 92:8,
preferiblemente, de 90:10. El hilo multifilamento puede insertarse
entre los hilos hilados, tanto en la urdimbre como en la trama, con
una razón de inserción de 1:5 a 1:20, preferiblemente, de 1:9.
Preferiblemente, el material textil se trata con un acabado
resistente al agua/la humedad, tal como se conoce bien.
Los hilos 12 hilados son una combinación de una
primera fibra cortada y una segunda fibra cortada. La primera fibra
cortada es fibra fabricada a partir de un polímero seleccionado del
grupo de PBI, PBO, una melamina-formaldehído, o
combinaciones de los mismos. La segunda fibra cortada es una fibra
fabricada a partir de una aramida o combinaciones de aramidas. Los
hilos hilados a modo de ejemplo incluyen, pero no se limitan a,
combinaciones de fibra cortada de aramida y PBI, fibra cortada de
aramida y PBO, fibras cortadas de aramida y
melamina-formaldehído y fibra cortada de aramida,
PBI, PBO y melamina-formaldehído. Los hilos hilados
comprenden preferiblemente un 45% en peso de la primera fibra
cortada y un 55% en peso de la fibra cortada de aramida. Los hilos
hilados pueden oscilar en tamaño desde 32/2 hasta 16/2 c.c.,
preferiblemente, de 24/2 c.c.
Las fibras cortadas de PBI están disponibles
comercialmente de Celanese Acetate LLC de Charlotte, NC. Las fibras
cortadas de PBO están disponibles comercialmente con el nombre
comercial de ZYLON® de Toyobo Co., Ltd. de Osaka, Japón. Las fibras
de melamina-formaldehído están disponibles
comercialmente con el nombre comercial de BASOFIL® de BASF
Corporation de Mount Olive, Nueva Jersey.
Las fibras cortadas de aramida pueden ser de o
bien una meta-aramida o bien una
para-aramida; se prefiere la
para-aramida. Tales fibras de aramida están
disponibles comercialmente con el nombre comercial de TWARON®,
CONEX® y TECHNORA® de Teijin Co. de Osaka, Japón; o NOMEX® o KELVAR®
de DuPont de Wilmington, DE; o P84 de Lenzing AG de Lenzing,
Austria; o KERMEL® de Rhodia Inc. de Cranbury, NJ.
El hilo multifilamento se fabrica a partir de
filamento de aramida. La aramida puede ser o bien
meta-aramida o bien para-aramida,
se prefiere la para-aramida. Tales fibras de aramida
están disponibles comercialmente con el nombre comercial de
TECHNORA®, TWARON® y CONEX® de Teijin Co. de Osaka, Japón, o NOMEX®
o KELVAR® de DuPont de Wilmington, DE, o P84 de Lenzing AG de
Lenzing, Austria o KERMEL® de Rhodia Inc. de Cranbury, NJ. El hilo
multifilamento oscila en tamaño desde 222 hasta 667 dtex (de 200 a
1500 denier), preferiblemente, de 444 dtex (400 denier). El hilo
multifilamento puede ser un hilo plano, un hilo retorcido o un hilo
craqueado.
La presente invención tiene una resistencia al
desgarro y a la abrasión superior, a un peso menor, con respecto al
material textil PBI GOLD®. Los resultados se exponen en la tabla
1.
El material textil A es un material textil de
200 g/m^{2} (6,0 OSY); el hilo hilado es de 27/2 c.c. con un 45
por ciento en peso de PBI y un 55 por ciento de fibra cortada
Technora®; el hilo multifilamento es un hilo plano insertado cada
10 hilos en la urdimbre y la trama.
El material textil B es un material textil de
234 g/m^{2} (6,9 OSY); el hilo hilado es de 24/2 c.c. con un 45
por ciento en peso de PBI y un 55 por ciento de fibra cortada de
microdenier Twaron®; el hilo multifilamento es un hilo retorcido
insertado cada 9 hilos en la urdimbre y la trama.
La presente invención puede realizarse en otras
formas sin apartarse del espíritu y los atributos centrales de la
misma y, en consecuencia, debe hacerse referencia a las
reivindicaciones adjuntas, en lugar de a la memoria descriptiva
anterior, ya que indican el alcance de la invención.
Claims (11)
1. Material textil para su uso como material
textil de cubierta externa para una prenda de vestir para bomberos
que comprende un material tejido de hilos hilados, incluyendo dichos
hilos hilados una primera fibra cortada que es un polímero
seleccionado del grupo que consiste en PBI, PBO o
melamina-formaldehído, en el que dicho material
textil también comprende hilos multifilamento que incluyen un
filamento de aramida y caracterizado porque dichos hilos
hilados incluyen una segunda fibra cortada de un polímero de
aramida.
2. Material textil según la reivindicación 1,
en el que la razón en peso de hilo hilado con respecto a hilo
multifilamento oscila desde 85:15 hasta 92:8.
3. Material textil según la reivindicación 2, en
el que la razón en peso es de 90:10.
4. Material textil según la reivindicación 1, en
el que el peso del material textil tejido oscila desde
200-271 g/m^{2} (de 6 a 8 OSY).
5. Material textil según la reivindicación 1, en
el que el material textil tejido tiene un ligamento seleccionado
del grupo que consiste en ligamento tafetán, sarga, resistente al
rasgado o Panamá.
6. Material textil según la reivindicación 1, en
el que el hilo hilado oscila desde 32/2 hasta 16/2 c. c.
7. Material textil según la reivindicación 1, en
el que el hilo multifilamento oscila desde 222 hasta 667 dtex (de
200 a 1500 denier).
8. Material textil según la reivindicación 1, en
el que el hilo multifilamento está insertado entre el hilo hilado a
una razón de 1:5 a 1:20.
9. Material textil según la reivindicación 2 u
8, en el que dicho hilo hilado es una combinación de fibra cortada
de aramida y PBI.
10. Material textil según la reivindicación 2 u
8, en el que dicho hilo hilado es una combinación de fibra cortada
de aramida y PBO.
11. Material textil según la reivindicación 2 u
8, en el que dicho hilo hilado es una combinación de fibra cortada
de aramida, PBI y PBO.
