Abstract
Un tejido textil (10) para su uso como la cubierta externa para un traje de bombero, que comprende: un material tejido de (i) hilos hilados (12) que incluyen a) una primera fibra corta que es un polímero de meta-aramida, y b) una segunda fibra corta de un polímero de para-aramida; (ii) hilos multi-filamento (14) que incluyen un filamento de aramida; en donde la razón en peso de hilo hilado a hilo multifilamento varía de 85:15 a 92:8 y la razón en peso de la primera y la segunda fibras cortas es del 20-60 % en peso para la primera fibra corta y del 40-80 % en peso para la segunda fibra corta.

Material textil para la cubierta externa de un traje de bombero Campo de la invencion
La presente invencion se refiere a un material textil para su uso como tejido de la cubierta externa de un traje de bombero.
Antecedentes de la invencion
El tejido de la cubierta externa de un traje de bombero debe ser resistente a las llamas, al calor, a la abrasion, al desgarro y a la humedad, duradero y de peso ligero. Este tejido de la cubierta externa proporciona la primera capa de proteccion para el bombero.
Las Patentes de Estados Unidos n.° 5.095.549; 5.136.723; 5.701.606; 5.983.409; 5.996.122; y 6.038.700 divulgan, entre otras cosas, trajes de bombero que tienen un tejido de la cubierta externa fabricado de fibras de PBI/aramida.
La Patente de Estados Unidos n.° 5.299.602 divulga un tejido de la cubierta externa, tejido, creado para trajes de bombero donde los hilos de urdimbre son hilos de aramida multifilamento y los hilos de trama son hilos multifilamento o hilos de aramida hilados.
La patente de Estados Unidos n.° 5.628.065 divulga una capucha de bombero de tejido de punto, formado de una combinacion de fibras de PBI y aramida.
Las Patentes de Estados Unidos n.° 6.065.153 y 6.192.520 divulgan un tejido de la cubierta externa tejido para un traje de bombero. Este tejido tiene un tejido liso, de sarga o antidesgarro "ripstop" y los hilos son una mezcla de fibras de PBI y aramida. El tejido tiene un peso que vana de 0,187 a 0,27 kg/m2 (de 5,5 a 8 OSY), preferentemente 0,255 kg/m2 (7,5 OSY).
El documento WO 03/016604, incluido dentro de las disposiciones del Artfculo 54 (3) de EPC, divulga una cubierta externa de un traje de bombero. Dicha cubierta es un tejido de hilo hilado e hilo multifilamento.
El documento US 5.928.971 divulga una tela facial para un revestimiento de barrera termica de un traje de bombero hecho a partir de un tejido resistente al fuego de, preferentemente, 100 % hilos de poli(m-fenilenisoftalamida) con, preferentemente, hilos de filamento en la direccion de la trama e hilos hilados en la direccion de la urdimbre.
El documento US-A.5.299.602 divulga un material textil tejido que tiene la urdimbre formada por hilos de aramida multifilamento y la trama formada por hilo de aramida multifilamento e hilos de aramida hilados.
Un tejido de la cubierta externa popular es un material textil tejido de hilos hilados que consisten en PBI y fibras cortas de aramida. Este tejido se conoce en el mercado como "PBI GOLD®". En Estados Unidos, este tejido generalmente se fabrica de las siguientes formas: 1) un tejido antidesgarro de 0,255 kg/m2 (7,5 OSY) preparado a partir de hilos hilados de 16/2 c.c. que consisten en 40 % en peso de PBI y 60 % en peso de una para-aramida; o 2) un tejido antidesgarro nominal de 0,238 kg/m2 (7,0 OSY) (real de 0,248 a 0,252 kg/m2 (de 7,3 a 7,4 OSY) preparado a partir de hilos hilados de 21/2 c.c. que consisten en 40 % PBI y 60 % de la para-aramida. Internacionalmente, este tejido esta en forma de un tejido antidesgarro de 0,204 kg/m2-0,221 kg/m2 (de 6,0 a 6,5 OSY) de hilos hilados de 24- 25/2 c.c. de 40 % PBI y 60 % para-aramida o un tejido de sarga fabricado de hilos hilados de 35/2 c.c. de 40 % PBI y 60 % para-aramida.
Otro tejido usado como tejido de la cubierta externa se comercializa con el nombre comercial "Millenia" de Southern Mills, Inc. de Union City, Ga. El tejido Millenia se fabrica con un hilo hilado que consiste en 40 % PBO y 60 % fibras cortas de para-aramida.
Aunque "PBI GOLD®" ha resultado ser un excelente tejido para la cubierta externa, sigue habiendo una necesidad de mejorar estos tejidos. Existe el deseo de tener tejidos de peso mas ligero que tengan mejor resistencia al desgarro y la abrasion.
Sumario de la invencion
La presente invencion se refiere a un material textil de acuerdo con la reivindicacion 1. Este tejido se usa como el tejido de la cubierta externa de un traje de bombero.

Descripcion de la invencion
Haciendo referencia a los dibujos en donde numeros similares indican elementos similares, se muestra en la Figura 1 una ilustracion del material textil 10 fabricado de acuerdo con la presente invencion. Preferentemente, el tejido 10 tiene un color dorado con un patron "a cuadros" creado por hilos multifilamento negros 14. El tejido 10 esta tejido. El tejido 10 es un tejido con hilos hilados 12 e hilos multifilamento 14. Los tejidos se seleccionan del grupo que consiste en liso, sarga, antidesgarro y oxford. El peso de tejido puede variar de 0,2 a 0,27 kg/m2 (de 6 a 8 OSY), preferentemente, 0,238 kg/m2 (7 OSY). La razon en peso de hilos hilados a hilos multifilamento vana de 85:15 a 92:8, preferentemente 90:10. El hilo multifilamento insertado entre los hilos hilados, tanto en la urdimbre como en la trama, lo esta a una razon de insercion de 1:5 a 1:20, preferentemente, 1:9. Preferentemente, el tejido se trata con un acabado resistente al agua/humedad, como es bien conocido.
Los hilos hilados 12 son una combinacion de una primera fibra corta y una segunda fibra corta. La primera fibra corta es una fibra fabricada a partir de un polfmero seleccionado del grupo de aramida, aramida y PBI, aramida y PBO, aramida y PBI y PBO. La segunda fibra corta es una fibra fabricada a partir de una aramida o combinaciones de aramidas. Los hilos hilados a modo de ejemplo incluyen combinaciones de fibra corta de aramida, PBI y fibra corta de aramida, PBO y fibra corta de aramida, y PBI, PBO y fibra corta de aramida. Los hilos hilados pueden tener cualquier razon en peso de la primera y segunda fibras cortas. La razon en peso de la primera y segunda fibra corta es preferentemente 20-60 % en peso de la primera fibra corta y 40-80 % en peso de la segunda fibra corta. Los hilos hilados mas preferentemente comprenden 30-45 % en peso de la primera fibra y 55-70 % en peso de la fibra de aramida. Los hilos hilados pueden variar de tamano de 32/2 a 16/2 c.c., preferentemente 24/2 c.c.
Las fibras cortas de PBI estan disponibles en el mercado en Celanese Acetate LLC de Charlotte, NC. Las fibras cortas de PBO estan disponibles en el mercado con el nombre comercial de ZYLON® de Toyobo Co., Ltd. de Osaka, Japon. Las fibras de melamina formaldetndo estan disponibles en el mercado con el nombre comercial de BASOFIL® de BASF Corporation de Mount Olive, New Jersey.
Las fibras cortas de aramida pueden ser cualquiera de meta-aramida o para-aramida. Tales fibras de aramida estan disponibles en el mercado con el nombre comercial de TWARON®, CONEX® y TECHNORA® de Teijin Co. de Osaka, Japon; o NOMEX® o KELVAR® de DuPont de Wilmington, DE; o P84 de Lenzing AG de Lenzing, Austria; o KERMEL® de Rhodia Inc. de Cranbury, NJ. Cuando la fibra corta de aramida forma la segunda fibra corta mencionada anteriormente, puede ser cualquiera de meta-aramida o para-aramida. Cuando la fibra corta de aramida forma la segunda fibra corta mencionada anteriormente, es preferentemente la para-aramida.
El hilo de multifilamento se fabrica a partir de filamento de aramida. La aramida puede ser cualquiera de meta- aramida o para-aramida, prefiriendose la para-aramida. Tales fibras de aramida estan disponibles en el mercado con el nombre comercial de TECHNORA®, TWARON® y CONEX® de Teijin Co. de Osaka, Japon, o NOMEX® o KELVAR® de DuPont de Wilmington, DE, o P84 de Lenzing AG de Lenzing, Austria o KERMEL® de Rhodia Inc. de Cranbury, NJ. El hilo multifilamento vana de tamano de 22,22 a 166,67 tex (de 200 a 1500 denier), preferentemente es de 44,44 tex (400 denier). El hilo multifilamento puede ser un hilo plano, un hilo torzal o un hilo roto extensible.
La presente invencion tiene una resistencia al desgarro y la abrasion superiores, a un menor peso, con respecto al tejido PBI GOLD®. Los resultados se exponen en la Tabla 1.
El tejido A es un tejido de 204 g/m2 (6,0 OSY); el hilo hilado es de 27/2 c.c., con 45 por ciento en peso de PBI y 55 por ciento de fibras cortas Technora®; el multifilamento es un hilo plano insertado cada 10 hilos en la urdimbre y la trama.
El tejido B es un tejido de 234,6 g/m2 (6,9 OSY); el hilo hilado es de 24/2 c.c., con 45 por ciento en peso de PBI y 55 por ciento de fibras cortas de microdenier Twaron®; el multifilamento es un hilo torzal insertado cada 9 hilos en la urdimbre y la trama.

Claims (7)
- 51015202530REIVINDICACIONES1. Un tejido textil (10) para su uso como la cubierta externa para un traje de bombero, que comprende: un material tejido de(i) hilos hilados (12) que incluyena) una primera fibra corta que es un polfmero de meta-aramida, yb) una segunda fibra corta de un polfmero de para-aramida;(ii) hilos multi-filamento (14) que incluyen un filamento de aramida;en donde la razon en peso de hilo hilado a hilo multifilamento vana de 85:15 a 92:8 y la razon en peso de la primera y la segunda fibras cortas es del 20-60 % en peso para la primera fibra corta y del 40-80 % en peso para la segunda fibra corta.
- 2. El tejido de la reivindicacion 1, en donde la razon en peso es de 90:10.
- 3. El tejido de la reivindicacion 1, en donde dichos hilos multifilamento estan insertados en dicho material tejido, tanto en la urdimbre como en la trama, a una razon de hilo multifilamento a hilo hilado de 1:5 a 1:20.
- 4. El tejido de la reivindicacion 1, en donde el peso del material textil vana de 0,20 a 0,27 kg/m2 (de 6 a 8 OSY).
- 5. El tejido de la reivindicacion 1, en donde el material textil tiene una textura seleccionada del grupo que consiste enliso, sarga, antidesgarro u oxford.
- 6. El tejido de la reivindicacion 1, en donde el hilo hilado vana de 32/2 a 16/2 c.c..
- 7. El tejido de la reivindicacion 1, en donde el hilo multifilamento vana de 22,22 a 166,67 tex (de 200 a 1500 denier).
