Abstract
Un método para el tratamiento de una masa de agua para eliminar o reducir los efectos de microorganismos, comprendiendo dicho método las etapas de formar, en una masa de agua, una solución de electrolitos que contiene de 1500 ppm a 9000 ppm de una sal soluble de haluro de magnesio; tratar dicha solución de electrolitos en una celda electrolítica de halogenación para formar una solución acuosa de ácido hipohaloso; y, devolver la solución de electrolitos tratada a dicha masa de agua.
Claims (20)
1. Un método para el tratamiento de una masa de
agua para eliminar o reducir los efectos de microorganismos,
comprendiendo dicho método las etapas de formar, en una masa de
agua, una solución de electrolitos que contiene de 1500 ppm a 9000
ppm de una sal soluble de haluro de magnesio;
- tratar dicha solución de electrolitos en una celda electrolítica de halogenación para formar una solución acuosa de ácido hipohaloso; y,
- devolver la solución de electrolitos tratada a dicha masa de agua.

2. Un método según la reivindicación 1 en donde
dicha solución de electrolitos contiene de 2000 ppm a 6000 ppm de
una sal soluble de haluro de magnesio.
3. Un método según la reivindicación 2 en donde
dicha solución de electrolitos contiene de 2500 ppm a 3000 ppm de
una sal soluble de haluro de magnesio.
4. Un método según la reivindicación 1 en donde
dicha solución de electrolitos contiene de 500 ppm a 3000 ppm de una
sal soluble de haluro de potasio.
5. Un método según la reivindicación 4 en donde
dicha solución de electrolitos contiene de 600 ppm a 3000 ppm de una
sal soluble de haluro de potasio.
6. Un método según la reivindicación 5 en donde
dicha solución de electrolitos contiene de 1000 ppm a 2500 ppm de
una sal soluble de haluro de potasio.
7. Un método según la reivindicación 6 en donde
dicha solución de electrolitos contiene de 0 ppm a 600 ppm de una
sal soluble de haluro de sodio.
8. Un método según la reivindicación 1 en donde
dicha solución de electrolitos contiene de 0 ppm a 300 ppm de una
sal soluble de haluro de metal alcalino seleccionada de LiBr, NaBr,
CaBr_{2}, MgBr_{2} o mezclas de las mismas.
9. Un método según la reivindicación 1 en donde
dicha solución de electrolitos tratada contiene
Mg(OH)_{2}.
10. Un método según la reivindicación 7 en donde
las sales de haluro de magnesio, haluro de potasio y haluro de sodio
son sales de cloruro.
11. Un método según la reivindicación 1 en donde
dicha solución de electrolitos se filtra a través de un medio
filtrante antes de regresar a dicha masa de agua.
12. Un método según la reivindicación 11 en
donde dicho medio filtrante comprende una composición de silícea
amorfa particulada.
13. Un método según la reivindicación 12 en
donde dicho medio filtrante comprende partículas de vidrio
trituradas o molidas.
14. Un método según la reivindicación 1 en donde
dicha solución de electrolitos se dirige a dicha celda electrolítica
de halogenación a través de un tanque de sedimentación para ayudar
en la separación de los contaminantes particulados.
15. Un método según la reivindicación 1 en donde
dicha solución de electrolitos se dirige, durante un ciclo de
retrolavado, enjuague o desviación a un tanque de recogida.
16. Una composición de sal de electrolitos para
uso con el método de la reivindicación 1 en donde la composición de
la sal de electrolitos comprende:
- MgCl_{2}
- 100-30% en peso
- KCl
- 0-70% en peso
- NaCl
- 0-8% en peso.

17. Una sal de electrolitos según la
reivindicación 16 en donde dicha composición de electrolitos incluye
desde 0 hasta 10% en peso de una sal soluble en agua de bromuro
seleccionada de NaBr, LiBr, KBr, CaBr_{2}, MgBr_{2} o mezclas de
las mismas.
18. Una sal de electrolitos según la
reivindicación 16 en donde dicha composición de electrolitos
comprende una solución acuosa concentrada.
19. Una sal de electrolitos según la
reivindicación 16 en donde dicha composición de electrolitos
comprende sólidos particulados.
20. Una sal de electrolitos según la
reivindicación 16 en donde dicha composición de electrolitos puede
derivar de o comprender agua amarga.
