Abstract

Un aparato para la concentración de minerales por flotación, en qué la mezcla del aire con los minerales y líquido tiene lugar en el interior de un tambor metálico hueco, con numerosas perforaciones o hendiduras en su periferia, cerrado en un extremo y con el otro extremo abierto, en cuya proximidad se prevee de medios para introducir la mezcla de minerales y líquido y aire dentro del tambor, mezclándose conjuntamente en el interior del tambor, siendo después arrojados por fuerza centrífuga a través de las perforaciones de dicho tambor, en forma de espuma que se echa directamente sobre la superficie de la suspensión fluida de minerales situada fuera del tambor, el cual se caracteriza por estar sumergido sólo parcialmente en dicha suspensión fluida de minerales y porque la espuma de la superficie que contiene el producto valioso, es separada, mientras que la mezcla empobrecida de minerales que está abajo, junto con la ganga que contiene es expulsada fuera.
