Abstract
Una primera, una segunda y una tercera preparación para su uso en un método de tratamiento de un mamífero, en donde dicho tratamiento provoca una inmunidad de amplio espectro contra una enfermedad causada por una cepa de Neisseria meningitidis, en donde dicha primera preparación comprende vesículas de membrana externa (VME), microvesículas (MV) o tanto VME como MV de una primera cepa de Neisseria meningitidis que es un miembro de un primer serogrupo, un primer serotipo y un primer serosubtipo, en donde dicha segunda preparación comprende las VME, las MV o tanto las VME como las MV de una segunda cepa de Neisseria meningitidis que es un miembro de un segundo serogrupo, un segundo serotipo y un segundo serosubtipo, en donde dicha tercera preparación comprende las VME, las MV o tanto las VME como las MV de una tercera cepa de Neisseria meningitidis que es un miembro de un tercer serogrupo, un tercer serotipo y un tercer serosubtipo, y en donde el serogrupo, el serotipo y el serosubtipo de la primera, la segunda y la tercera cepa de Neisseria meningitidis son diferentes, y en donde la primera, la segunda y la tercera preparación se usan en una cantidad suficiente para provocar una respuesta inmunitaria contra epítopes presentes en dichas preparaciones; comprendiendo el método la administración en serie de la primera, la segunda y la tercera preparación, de tal manera que la segunda preparación se administra después de que dicho mamífero se haya sensibilizado inmunológicamente por exposición a la primera preparación y la tercera preparación se administra después de que dicho mamífero se haya sensibilizado inmunológicamente por exposición a la segunda preparación, en donde la administración de la primera, la segunda y la tercera preparación es suficiente para provocar una respuesta inmunitaria en dicho mamífero, confiriendo dicha respuesta inmunitaria inmunoprotección contra una enfermedad causada por al menos una cepa de Neisseria meningitidis, y en donde dichas primera, segunda y tercera preparaciones son eficaces para provocar una respuesta de anticuerpos bactericida contra al menos una cepa de Neisseria meningitidis que expresa un epítope del serosubtipo no incluido en la primera, la segunda o la tercera preparación.
