Abstract
Process for the extraction of sulfur from material containing it in the elemental state, characterized in that it comprises the treatment of the sulfur carrier material with an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent having from 7 to 18 carbon atoms to form a solution of the solvent and the elemental sulfur, maintaining in said treatment the temperature of the material and the aforementioned solvent between 85 and 132º c, separating the solution from the residual solid material, cooling the solution to a crystallization temperature of the sulfur and separating it from the cooled solution.
