Abstract

Un vector de ácido nucleico que comprende una secuencia codificante de la transcriptasa inversa de la telomerasa (TERT) para uso en el tratamiento o la prevención de un trastorno relacionado con la edad en un adulto sin el uso concomitante de un supresor de cáncer, en el que el tratamiento no aumenta de manera significativa la incidencia de cáncer en el sujeto, el vector de ácido nucleico es un vector no integrativo y dirigido a tejidos post-mitóticos, el adulto es un humano, y el trastorno relacionado con la edad es seleccionado del grupo de osteoporosis, intolerancia a la glucosa, resistencia a la insulina, pérdida de memoria y pérdida de la coordinación neuromuscular, o combinaciones de los mismos.
