La caja de enchufe 1 presenta un zocalo de aparato 4 al que rodea por el lado exterior un marco de soporte 5 que hace posible la fijacion de la caja de enchufe 1 en la carcasa de instalacion 2. En el lado frontal esta fijado un elemento frontal 6 en el que esta formado un espacio de alojamiento 7 para un enchufe macho de aparato 8 y que, segun la aplicacion, puede estar constituido por una sola pieza o por varias piezas. En el zocalo de aparato 4 estan dispuestos unos bornes de conexion 9 y unos elementos de contacto metalicos unidos con estos, en los que se enchufan unos contactos de conexion frontales 10 del enchufe macho 8 del aparato. Asimismo, en el zocalo 4 del aparato esta dispuesto un estribo de puesta a tierra no representado que sirve para el contactado frontal de un contacto de puesta a tierra del enchufe macho 8 del aparato.
