Abstract

Box (10), with a bottom (12); and at least two pairs of opposite side walls (14a, 14b, 16a, 16b) respectively, extending a first side wall (16b) from the bottom (12) towards the top in a vertical direction (18) at least partially by only an extraction height (20) that is less than the height of one or more of the other side walls (14a, 14b, 16a) in order to define a lateral opening with a dimension that allows access to and extraction of contained products in the box (10) through the side opening, the first side wall (16b) being stationary, and the other side walls (14a, 14b, 16a) being arranged that do not correspond to the first side wall (16b) of movable manner with respect to the bottom (12) so that they can be folded in the direction of the bottom (12) in a folded state in which they are substantially parallel to the bottom (12), and presenting the bottom (12) in an area (50) adjacent to the first side wall (16b) a The support surface for products to be transported larger than in the center in the other area of the bottom (12), the bottom (12) not being formed throughout the surface, but being formed by an arrangement of ribs covering the bottom surface (12), and the number or surface density of the ribs being increased in the area (50) adjacent to the first side wall (16b) compared to the other area.

Figure 5 shows a further embodiment of the present invention that differs from the embodiments discussed by means of the previous figures substantially in that with the embodiment shown in Figure 5 other bottle sizes can be transported. While the embodiment shown in Figure 5 is adapted to bottles with a content of 0.5 l, the example of embodiment shown in Figure 5 of a box is adapted to bottles with a content of 0.33 l. Thus, the embodiment of Figure 5 differs substantially in the arrangement of the mandrels of the embodiment of Figure 1 as well as in the thickness of the side walls 14a, 14b and 16b, which was modified to support the arranged bottles inside the box with the same outer volume of the box. Thus, for example, the box shown in Figure 5 has five mandrels.

To increase the safety of the assembly, each of the embodiments shown in Figures 1 and 5 25 comprise an additional optional second mounting opening 60.

The embodiment shown in Figure 6 is also configured to transport 24 bottles with a content of 0.33 l each, and corresponds largely to the example of embodiment shown in Figure 5. However, in the embodiment example of Figure 5, the side walls 14a, 14b and 16a or at least parts of the 30 side walls 14a, 14b and 16a are arranged foldably by means of hinges with respect to the bottom. In this regard, they are foldable in such a way that they can be folded in the direction of the bottom and are substantially parallel to the bottom in an unfolded state, as illustrated in Figure 7 for the side wall 16a, which is parallel to the surface of the bottom 12 in the deployed state. Figure 8 shows all the side walls 14a, 14b and 16a in the unfolded state, so that in the folded state the box can be

35 easily transported back to the brewery or bottler without taking up much space. This can significantly reduce transportation costs.

Although, based on Figures 6 to 8, the foldable side walls 14a, 14b and 16a are shown only for a box which is configured to transport 24 bottles of 0.33 l each, it is obvious that only the box

40 shown in Figure 1 for 0.5 l bottles can be provided for folding side walls. Generally, for all the embodiments shown here it is applied that the features described or shown based on the individual embodiments can be combined with each other in any way in order to obtain alternative additional embodiments of boxes according to the invention.

45 Figure 9 illustrates the exemplary embodiment of Figure 5 in the loaded state, where 24 bottles are inside the box.

As in Figure 5, the movable side wall area 23 is in the folded position in order to further secure the front row bottles or in order to fix the product label for transport in the

50 outer side of the flexible part 23, which is not relevant for the presentation of the goods.

Figure 10 shows the embodiment of Figure 5 with an alternative form of loading, namely with four packs of six 70a, 70b, 70c and 70d.

Finally, Figure 11 shows a top view of the embodiment of Figure 5 where it can be seen that the mandrel 54c has a different geometric shape to the mandrels 54a, 54b and 54d or 54e in order to allow the insertion of packages of six. In alternative embodiments, however, the central mandrel 54c can naturally have the same shape as the other mandrels, such as the mandrel 54a. Likewise, any other mandrel may have the shape of the mandrel 54c.

60 As can be seen from the top view of Figure 11, also in the case of boxes for 24 beverage bottles, the bottom 12 in the area 50 adjacent to the first side wall 16 is also designed with a larger support area that the central support area of the total bottom in order to prevent an unwanted inclination of the bottles out of the box.
