Abstract
A method of manufacturing an arcuate card lining member for use in a carding machine in cooperation with a card lining cylinder, of the type comprising a relatively rigid holding element having an arched cross section, with secured card lining to its concave face with the teeth pointing inward, characterized by the operations of: placing the card lining on the convex surface of an arched shape with the teeth of the card lining protruding inward towards the former; arranging an initially deformable support element capable of being pierced by a fluid bonding agent, with a communicated shape that includes a concave surface; applying the support element to the outside of the card lining on the former, with the concave surface of the support element presented to the convex surface of the card gasket; introducing a curable bonding agent to bond the support element to the card lining and causing some of the bonding agent to penetrate the support element, and then cure the bonding agent to stiffen the support element while the card is on the former, whereby the bonding agent fixes the support element to the card lining and maintains the shape of the card lining communicated by the former.
