Process for the preparation of ultradispersed and pulverulent silver halide compositions and an organic macropolymer, which, in the case of containing iodine as halogen, constitute nucleating agents for meteorological influences, preferably for triggering rain in subcooled clouds, characterized in that in its execution a finely divided organic macropolymer of a large specific surface is impregnated and/or loaded with a silver halide in the presence of water, the finely divided organic macropolymer and/or the silver halide being chemically "in situ" and provided with the macropolymer, (or the macropolymer-forming pre-products), and the silver halide, (or the silver halide-forming pre-products), in quantitative ratio such that the final, ultradispersed, powdery product contains the silver halide at the concentration of 0.1 to 10 by weight with respect to the final product.
