A method of manufacturing wear resistant components for paper machines, comprising placing wear resistant particles, with a shape that goes from the spheroidal to the spherical in a mold, to form a layer along the surface of the mold, whose layer will produce a wear surface of the part; vibrating said mold to closely compact the wear resistant particles contained therein on the mold surface that will produce the wear surface of the part; heating the mold and the wear-resistant particles to a temperature at which a thermosetting hardener-resin system will have a viscosity of less than 50 centipoise; pouring a resin system, taken from the class consisting of thermosetting resins, along one side of said hot mold, to rapidly bring said resin system up to the temperature of the mold, thus reducing the viscosity of the resin system and allowing that it flows around the particles to replace the existing air in the cavities between the particles and the surface of the mold before the resin-hardening reaction increases the viscosity of the system.
