Abstract

Un mecanismo absorbente de la energía principalmente para uso en vehículos automóviles que comprende, en combinación, un miembro de soporte, una pieza alargada, llevada por dicho miembro de soporte y que tiene un extremo dispuesto para recibir un impacto mientras que el extremo opuesto puede desplazarse libremente bajo la acción de dicho impacto, estando provista dicha pieza alargada de dos pasadores transversales separados longitudinalmente y una pareja de ranuras longitudinales dentro de las cuales puede deslizarse libremente el pasador adyacente al extremo externo de la pieza alargada estando, dicho pasador adyacente al extremo externo de la pieza alargada, fijo a dicho soporte mientras que el otro pasador transversal está fijado al extremo interno de dicha pieza alargada, estando conectados operativamente dichos pasadores por un elastómero orientado para constituir un absorbente de la energía al desplazarse la pieza alargada en respuesta a un impacto ocasionando una separación relativade dichos pasadores.
