Abstract

Esta invención se refiere a una vasija de reacción de polimerización con un recubrimiento sobre sus superficies internas, resultante de la aplicación de una composición de recubrimiento que contiene, como ingrediente fundamental, (1) el producto de autocondensación de un fenol polihídrico, (2) el producto de condensación de dcs o más fenoles polihídricos o (3) el producto de autocondensación de un naftol polihídrico, disuelto en una solución acuosa de un hidróxido de metal alcalino. En la polimerización de monómeros olefínicos, como haluros de vinilo, haluros de vinilideno y monómeros vinilidénicos que contienen por lo menos un grupo CH2=Cmayor que terminal, y mezclas de los mismos, en presencia de dicho recubrimiento, se elimina sustancialmente la acumulación de polímeros sobre las superficies internas de la vasija de reacción. Además, pueden realizarse múltiples cargas o lotes de polímero en dicha vasija de reacción recubierta internamente, sin abrir la misma entre cargas, evitando así que escape a la atmósfera circundante el monómero que no ha reaccionado.
