Abstract

Procedimiento para la descomposición de amalgamas de mercurio-metal alcalino, caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de reaccionar dicha amalgama de mercurio-metal alcalino con agua, en presencia de un material sinterizado compuesto de al menos un boruro de metal válvula en polvo y de al menos un carburo de metal válvula, desprendiéndose hidrógeno de dicha reacción; y recuperar una solución acuosa de hidróxido de metal alcalino.
