Abstract
Un método para almacenar durante un largo periodo de tiempo residuos nucleares radiactivos, que comprende (a) impregnar los poros de una preforma de vidrio poroso con una corriente líquida de residuos nucleares radiactivos, caracterizándose dicha preforma por una estructura porosa interconectada y un contenido de SiO2 de al menos 75 por ciento en moles (b) hacer que precipiten sólidos que comprendan material radiactivo de dicha corriente líquida en los poros de dicha preforma © sacar dicha preforma (d) calentar dicha preforma a la temperatura de sinterización para aplastar su estructura porosa y (e) obtener un producto no poroso que contiene productos residuales nucleares radiactivos encapsulados e inmovilizados en e¿l.
