Abstract
A component is deep-drawn or stretched from aluminium or tinned iron sheet which has been coated with a hydrophilic surface layer having the formula Sn(R) or Al(R) where R = OH, O + OH with O < OH or a hydrophilic radical having a free OH group, comprising complex compound alkanol amines. Preferably, R is triethanolamine, an ester or an oxalic acid glycerin and the component desirably comprises a stretched container intended for packaging purposes. One method of manufacturing the component is to subject an aluminium sheet to the action of an inert gas after rolling and cleaning or a tinned iron sheet to the action of an inert gas after rolling, cleaning and tin plating until immediately before the sheet is deep- drawn or stretched. In an alternative method, when the aluminium or tinned iron sheet has an oxidized surface, the sheet is treated electrolytically in an acidic or alkaline liquid immediately before being deep- drawn or stretched and is subsequently dried.
