Abstract

Un procedimiento para reducir el contenido de azufre de residuos de petróleo, poniendo íntimamente en contacto dichos residuos de petroleo con sulfuro de metal alcalino hidratado o hidróxido de metal alcalino hidratado, o mezclas de ellos, durante de 3 a 60 minutos, a una temperatura entre 120º y 325ºC , en n recipiente a presión, que tiene preferiblemente atmósfera de hidrógeno, separando luego dicho sulfuro de metal alcalino hidratado o hidróxido de metal alcalino hidratado, o mezclas de ellos, de dicho residuo de petróleo, y pasando luego vapor de agua a través de dicho residuo de petróleo separado, haciendo luego una separación líquido -líquido para separar residuo de petróleo de la solución acuosa de los reactivos, produciendo un residuo de petróleo con contenido reducido de azufre.
