Abstract

Un método de terminar un extremo de una fibra óptica, en el que la extremidad de la fibra es asegurada mediante adhesivo en un manguito que tiene una parte de extremidad deformable radialmente, caracterizado por las operaciones de: eliminar una parte del revestimiento óptico de una parte de extremidad de la fibra para dejar expuesta una longitud de alma óptica, insertar la extremidad de fibra y un adhesivo en un manguito, de modo que el alma sobresalga del manguito más allá de una parte de extremidad deformable radialmente del manguito y el revestimiento se extienda en la parte de extremidad; montar a presión un zócalo de alineación rígido con un orificio concéntrico en una pared de extremidad transversal, sobre la parte de extremidad del manguito con el alma recibida en el orificio de modo que el alma esté concéntrica con la periferia de la parte de extremidad, y eliminar la parte expuesta del alma después de que el adhesivo haya curado.
